According to Lang and Reichenbach, 2013, the original type strain provided by the Approved Lists, TC 4494, is a dead herbarium specimen in the Taxter collection. Due to this fact, Reichenbach designated the type strain Sy t2 (=DSM 14631=JCM 12617) as the type strain in Bergey's Manual of Systematic Bacteriology 2nd edition, vol. 2, and Lang and Reichenbach, 2013 formally proposed the deposits.
