DSMZ asserts that DSM 44900 is equivalent to DSM 44103 (the type strain of Couchioplanes caeruleus azureus). This differs from the primary literature, which asserts that this strain is a novel isolate "from sandy soil collected at a forest-side waterfall in Chokoria, Cox’s Bazar, Bangladesh" in 2005.
