Nomenclatural History
The species Aeromonas salmonicida was originally described by Griffin et al. 1953. This name appeared on the Approved Lists of Bacterial Names 1980. In 1967, Schubert reduced this species to the rank of subspecies to form (Lehmann and Neumann 1896) Griffin et al. 1953 (Approved Lists 1980) .
