Nomenclatural History
The species Bartonella vinsonii was originally described and validly published by Brenner et al. 1993. Kordick et al. published an emended description of this species in 1996. Brenner et al. formed this name in 1993 by placing the species Weiss and Dasch 1982 into the genus Strong et al. 1915 (Approved Lists 1980) emend. Birtles et al. 1995. In 1996, Kordick et al. reduced this species to the rank of subspecies to form (Weiss and Dasch 1982) Kordick et al. 1996 .
