Nomenclatural History	The species Beijerinckia indica was originally described by Derx 1950. This name appeared on the Approved Lists of Bacterial Names 1980. Hördt et al. published an emended description of this species in 2020. In 1990, Howey et al. reduced this species to the rank of subspecies to form Beijerinckia indica indica (Starkey and De 1939) Starkey and De 1990 .
