Nomenclatural History
The species Campylobacter hyointestinalis was originally described by Gebhart et al. 1985. This name became validly published when it appeared on Validation List No. 19 in 1985. On et al. published an emended description of this species in 1995. In 1995, On et al. reduced this species to the rank of subspecies to form (Gebhart et al. 1985) On et al. 1995 .
