The species Clostridium glycyrrhizinilyticum was originally described by Sakuma et al. 2006. This name became validly published when it appeared on Validation List No. 112 in 2006. In 2013, Yutin and Galperin established as the basonym of (Sakuma et al. 2006) Yutin and Galperin 2013 . In 2018, Togo et al. established as the basonym of (Sakuma et al. 2006) Togo et al. 2019 .
