Nomenclatural History	The species Corynebacterium flaccumfaciens was originally described by Dowson 1942. This name appeared on the Approved Lists of Bacterial Names 1980. In 1982, Carlson and Vidaver reduced this species to the rank of subspecies to form Corynebacterium flaccumfaciens flaccumfaciens (Hedges 1922) Dowson 1942 (Approved Lists 1980) . In 1983, Collins and Jones established Corynebacterium flaccumfaciens as the basonym of Curtobacterium flaccumfaciens (Hedges 1922) Collins and Jones 1984 .
