Nomenclatural History	The species Couchioplanes caeruleus was originally described and validly published by Tamura et al. 1994. In 1994, Tamura et al. reduced this species to the rank of subspecies to form Couchioplanes caeruleus caeruleus (Horan and Brodsky 1986) Tamura et al. 1994 . Tamura et al. formed this name in 1994 by placing the species Actinoplanes caeruleus Horan and Brodsky 1986 into the genus Couchioplanes Tamura et al. 1994.
