Nomenclatural History	The species Lactobacillus kefiranofaciens was originally described and validly published by Fujisawa et al. 1988. Vancanneyt et al. published an emended description of this species in 2004. In 2004, Vancanneyt et al. reduced this species to the rank of subspecies to form Lactobacillus kefiranofaciens kefiranofaciens (Fujisawa et al. 1988) Vancanneyt et al. 2004 .
