Nomenclatural History
The species Lactobacillus paracasei was originally described and validly published by Collins et al. 1989. This name was affected by Judicial Opinion 82 in 2008. In 1989, Collins et al. reduced this species to the rank of subspecies to form Collins et al. 1989 . established this name as an earlier heterotypic synonym of (ex Kuznetsov 1959) Dicks et al. 1996 emend. Huang et al. 2020 in 2019. In 2020, Zheng et al. established as the basonym of (Collins et al. 1989) Zheng et al. 2020 .
