Nomenclatural History
The species Micromonospora echinospora was originally described by Luedemann and Brodsky 1964. This name appeared on the Approved Lists of Bacterial Names 1980. Kasai et al. published an emended description of this species in 2000. In 1964, Luedemann and Brodsky reduced this species to the rank of subspecies to form Luedemann and Brodsky 1964 (Approved Lists 1980) . Kasai et al. established this name as an earlier heterotypic synonym of Luedemann and Brodsky 1964 (Approved Lists 1980) in 2000. Kasai et al. established this name as an earlier heterotypic synonym of Wagman et al. 1974 (Approved Lists 1980) in 2000.
