The species Quadricoccus australiensis was originally described and validly published by Maszenan et al. 2002. Tindall and Euzéby established Quadricoccus australiensis as an earlier homotypic synonym of
Quatrionicoccus australiensis Tindall and Euzéby 2006 pro synon. Quadricoccus australiensis Maszenan et al. 2002
in 2006.
