Nomenclatural History

The species Ruegeria mobilis was originally described and validly published by Muramatsu et al. 2007. Vandecandelaere et al. published an emended description of this species in 2008. Lai et al. established this name as an earlier heterotypic synonym of
Ruegeria pelagia Lee et al. 2007 emend. Lai et al. 2010
in 2010. In 2018, Wirth and Whitman established Ruegeria mobilis as the basonym of
Epibacterium mobile (Muramatsu et al. 2007) Wirth and Whitman 2018
. In 2020, Hördt et al. established Ruegeria mobilis as the basonym of
Tritonibacter mobilis (Muramatsu et al. 2007) Hördt et al. 2020
