Nomenclatural History	The species Saccharothrix mutabilis was originally described and validly published by Labeda and Lechevalier 1989. Labeda and Lechevalier formed this name in 1989 by placing the species Nocardiopsis mutabilis Shearer et al. 1983 into the genus Saccharothrix Labeda et al. 1984 emend. Labeda and Lechevalier 1989. In 1990, List Editor reduced this species to the rank of subspecies to form Saccharothrix mutabilis mutabilis (Shearer et al. 1983) Grund and Kroppenstedt 1990 .
