Nomenclatural History
The species Staphylococcus sciuri was originally described by Kloos et al. 1976. This name appeared on the Approved Lists of Bacterial Names 1980. Švec et al. published an emended description of this species in 2016. In 1976, Kloos et al. reduced this species to the rank of subspecies to form Kloos et al. 1976 (Approved Lists 1980) . In 2020, Madhaiyan et al. established as the basonym of (Kloos et al. 1976) Madhaiyan et al. 2020 .
