Nomenclatural History
The species Kitasatosporia mediocidica was originally described and validly published by Labeda 1988. Zhang et al. corrected this name from (sic) to . Nouioui et al. published an emended description of this species in 2018. In 1992, Wellington et al. established as the basonym of (Labeda 1988) Wellington et al. 1992 .
