The species Virgosporangium aurantiacum was originally described and validly published by Tamura et al. 2001. This name was affected by Judicial Opinion 81 in 2008. List Editor corrected this name from Virgosporangium aurantiacum (sic) to Virgisporangium aurantiacum .
