Nomenclatural History
The species Haloanaerobium saccharolyticum was originally described by Rainey et al. 1995. This name became validly published when it appeared on Validation List No. 55 in 1995. Oren corrected this name from (sic) to . In 1995, Rainey et al. reduced this species to the rank of subspecies to form corrig. (Zhilina et al. 1992) Rainey et al. 1995 . Rainey et al. formed this name in 1995 by placing the species corrig. Zhilina et al. 1992 emend. Cayol et al. 1994 into the genus corrig. Zeikus et al. 1984 emend. Rainey et al. 1995 (sic) Zeikus et al. 1984 emend. Rainey et al. 1995.
