Nomenclatural History	The species Pantoea ananas was originally described and validly published by Mergaert et al. 1993. Trüper and De' Clari corrected this name from Pantoea ananas (sic) to Pantoea ananatis . Mergaert et al. formed this name in 1993 by placing the species Erwinia ananatis corrig. Serrano 1928 (Approved Lists 1980) into the genus Pantoea Gavini et al. 1989 emend. Brady et al. 2010.
