The species Streptococcus parasanguis was originally described by Whiley et al. 1990. This name became validly published when it appeared on Validation List No. 34 in 1990. Trüper and De' Clari corrected this name from Streptococcus parasanguis (sic) to Streptococcus parasanguinis .
