Nomenclatural History

The species Thiobacillus albertensis was originally described by Bryant et al. 1983. This name became validly published when it appeared on Validation List No. 25 in 1988. Kelly and Wood corrected this name from Thiobacillus albertis (sic) to Thiobacillus albertensis . In 2000, Kelly and Wood established Thiobacillus albertensis as the basonym of
Acidithiobacillus albertensis (Bryant et al. 1988) Kelly and Wood 2000
.
