Nomenclatural History
The species Blautia coccoides was originally described and validly published by Liu et al. 2008. Liu et al. formed this name in 2008 by placing the species Kaneuchi et al. 1976 (Approved Lists 1980) into the genus Liu et al. 2008 emend. Durand et al. 2017. In 2021, Maturana and Cárdenas reduced this species to the rank of subspecies to form (Kaneuchi et al. 1976) Maturana and Cárdenas 2021 .
