Nomenclatural History
The genus Halosarcina was originally proposed and validly published by Savage et al. 2008. Cui et al. published an emended description of this genus in 2010. Qiu et al. transferred the members of this genus into Montalvo-Rodríguez et al. 1998 emend. Cui et al. 2010 in 2013.
