The species Arthrobacter sanguinis was originally described by Mages et al. 2008. This name became validly published when it appeared on Validation List No. 125 in 2009. In 2017, Schumann and Busse established as the basonym of (Mages et al. 2009) Schumann and Busse 2017 .
