The species Bacillus alkalinitrilicus was originally described by Sorokin et al. 2008. This name became validly published when it appeared on Validation List No. 125 in 2009. In 2020, Patel and Gupta established as the basonym of (Sorokin et al. 2009) Patel and Gupta 2020 . In 2021, Joshi et al. established as the basonym of (Sorokin et al. 2009) Joshi et al. 2022 .
