The species Roseomonas stagni was originally described by Furuhata et al. 2008. This name became validly published when it appeared on Validation List No. 123 in 2008. Hördt et al. published an emended description of this species in 2020. In 2021, Rai et al. established as the basonym of (Furuhata et al. 2008) Rai et al. 2022 .
