Nomenclatural History

The genus Pleisomonas was originally proposed by Habs and Schubert 1962. This name appeared on the Approved Lists of Bacterial Names 1980. Hill et al. corrected this name from Pleisomonas (sic) to Plesiomonas . Schubert published an emended description of this genus in 1974.
