Nomenclatural History
The family Thermoleophilaceae was originally proposed by Stackebrandt 2004. This name became validly published when it appeared on Validation List No. 102 in 2005. Zhi et al. published an emended description of this family in 2009. A subsequent emendation was proposed by Foesel et al. in 2016.
