Nomenclatural History
The order Thermoanaerobacterales was originally proposed by Wiegel 2009. This name became validly published when it appeared on Validation List No. 132 in 2010. Zhang et al. published an emended description of this order in 2019. A subsequent emendation was proposed by Lv et al. in 2020. This name replaces the name Garrity and Holt 2001 .
