The species Paraoerskovia marina was originally described and validly published by Khan et al. 2009. Schumann et al. published an emended description of this species in 2013. Schumann et al. established this name as an earlier heterotypic synonym of Lee and Lee 2010 emend. Nouioui et al. 2018 in 2013.
