The species Lactobacillus uvarum was originally described by Mañes-Lázaro et al. 2008. This name became validly published when it appeared on Validation List No. 129 in 2009. In 2020, Zheng et al. established as the basonym of (Mañes-Lázaro et al. 2009) Zheng et al. 2020 .
