Nomenclatural History
The genus Marinifilum was originally proposed and validly published by Na et al. 2009. Ruvira et al. published an emended description of this genus in 2013. A subsequent emendation was proposed by Fu et al. in 2018.

Fu et al. 2018 erroneously cite the authority as Marinifilum Ruvina et al. 2013.
