Nomenclatural History
The species Sphingopyxis ummariensis was originally described and validly published by Sharma et al. 2010. Hördt et al. published an emended description of this species in 2020. In 2017, Feng et al. reduced this species to the rank of subspecies to form (Sharma et al. 2010) Feng et al. 2017 . Feng et al. established this name as a later heterotypic synonym of (Takeuchi et al. 1993) Takeuchi et al. 2001 emend. Hördt et al. 2020 in 2017.
