The class Zetaproteobacteria was originally proposed by Makita et al. 2017. Oren et al. corrected this name from Zetaproteobacteria (sic) to Mariprofundia .
The description of this taxon is located in Supplemental Text 1 of Makita et al. 2017. Also known as ζ-Proteobacteria.
