Nomenclatural History	The subspecies Geobacillus thermodenitrificans thermodenitrificans was originally described by Cihan et al. 2011. This name became validly published when it appeared on Validation List No. 142 in 2011. In 2011, Cihan et al. reduced Geobacillus thermodenitrificans (Manachini et al. 2000) Nazina et al. 2001 emend. Coorevits et al. 2012 to the rank of subspecies.
