The species Aureimonas frigidaquae was originally described and validly published by Rathsack et al. 2011. Hördt et al. published an emended description of this species in 2020. Rathsack et al. formed this name in 2011 by placing the species Kim et al. 2008 into the genus Rathsack et al. 2011.
