Nomenclatural History
The species Elizabethkingia anophelis was originally described and validly published by Kämpfer et al. 2011. Kämpfer et al. published an emended description of this species in 2015. Subsequent emendations were proposed by Doijad et al. in 2016, Hahnke et al. in 2016 and Nicholson et al. in 2018. In 2019, García-López et al. reduced this species to the rank of subspecies to form (Kämpfer et al. 2011) García-López et al. 2020 .
