Nomenclatural History	The species Geobacillus thermantarcticus was originally described and validly published by Coorevits et al. 2012. Coorevits et al. formed this name in 2012 by placing the species Bacillus thermantarcticus corrig. Nicolaus et al. 2002 into the genus Geobacillus Nazina et al. 2001 emend. Aliyu et al. 2018. In 2018, Aliyu et al. established Geobacillus thermantarcticus as the basonym of Parageobacillus thermantarcticus (Nicolaus et al. 2002) Aliyu et al. 2019 .
