The species Rhodopseudomonas pseudopalustris was originally described and validly published by Venkata Ramana et al. 2012. Hördt et al. published an emended description of this species in 2020. Imhoff et al. established Rhodopseudomonas pseudopalustris as a later homotypic synonym of
Rhodopseudomonas palustris (Molisch 1907) van Niel 1944 (Approved Lists 1980) emend. Venkata Ramana et al. 2012
in 2020.
Note: Although Imhoff et al. 2020 claims this name to be illegitimate, it is simply a later homotypic synonym of Rhodopseudomonas palustris.
