Nomenclatural History

The species Sphingobium suberifaciens was originally described and validly published by Chen et al. 2013. Chen et al. formed this name in 2013 by placing the species
Sphingomonas suberifaciens (van Bruggen et al. 1990) Yabuuchi et al. 1999
into the genus Sphingobium Takeuchi et al. 2001 emend. Li et al. 2013. In 2014, Francis et al. established Sphingobium suberifaciens as the basonym of
Rhizorhapis suberifaciens (van Bruggen et al. 1990) Francis et al. 2014
.
