Nomenclatural History	The subspecies Geobacillus subterraneus subterraneus was originally described by Poli et al. 2012. This name became validly published when it appeared on Validation List No. 151 in 2013. In 2012, Poli et al. reduced Geobacillus subterraneus Nazina et al. 2001 emend. Poli et al. 2012 to the rank of subspecies.
