Nomenclatural History	The species Prescottia equi was originally described by Jones et al. 2013. Jones et al. established Prescottia equi as an earlier homotypic synonym of Rhodococcus equi (Magnusson 1923) Goodfellow and Alderson 1977 (Approved Lists 1980) emend. Nouioui et al. 2018 in 2013. In 2013, Jones et al. established Prescottia equi as the basonym of Prescottella equi (Magnusson 1923) Jones et al. 2013 . Jones et al. formed this name in 2013 by placing the species Rhodococcus equi (Magnusson 1923) Goodfellow and Alderson 1977 (Approved Lists 1980) emend. Nouioui et al. 2018 into the genus Prescottella (Jones et al. 2013) Jones et al. 2013.
