Nomenclatural History
The subspecies Vibrio tapetis tapetis was originally described by Balboa and Romalde 2013. This name became validly published when it appeared on Validation List No. 152 in 2013. Levican et al. published an emended description of this subspecies in 2017. In 2013, Balboa and Romalde reduced Borrego et al. 1996 emend. Balboa and Romalde 2013 to the rank of subspecies.
