Nomenclatural History
The species Pseudothermotoga hypogea was originally described by Bhandari and Gupta 2014. This name became validly published when it appeared on Validation List No. 177 in 2017. Bhandari and Gupta formed this name in 2014 by placing the species Fardeau et al. 1997 into the genus Bhandari and Gupta 2014 emend. Belahbib et al. 2018.
