The species Roseomonas tokyonensis was originally described by Furuhata et al. 2013. This name became validly published when it appeared on Validation List No. 157 in 2014. In 2021, Rai et al. established Roseomonas tokyonensis as the basonym of
Falsiroseomonas tokyonensis (Furuhata et al. 2014) Rai et al. 2022
