The species Achromobacter nematophilus was originally described by Poinar and Thomas 1965. In 1979, Thomas and Poinar established Achromobacter nematophilus as the basonym of
Xenorhabdus nematophila corrig. (Poinar and Thomas 1965) Thomas and Poinar 1979 (Approved Lists 1980)
