The species Flavobacterium tructae was originally described and validly published by Zamora et al. 2014. Kim et al. published an emended description of this species in 2014. Kämpfer et al. established this name as an earlier heterotypic synonym of Loch and Faisal 2014 emend. García-López et al. 2019 in 2020.
