The species Saccharicrinis fermentans was originally described and validly published by Yang et al. 2014. Liu et al. published an emended description of this species in 2014. Yang et al. formed this name in 2014 by placing the species Bachmann 1955 (Approved Lists 1980) into the genus Yang et al. 2014 emend. García-López et al. 2019.
