The subspecies Ralstonia syzygii syzygii was originally described and validly published by Safni et al. 2014. In 2014, Safni et al. reduced (Roberts et al. 1990) Vaneechoutte et al. 2004 emend. Safni et al. 2014 to the rank of subspecies.
